RoHS Compliant

EU rules restrict the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment to protect the environment and public health. EU RoHS specifies maximum levels for 10 restricted substances. Examples of such substances are lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium and cadmium.

RoHS means “Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances”. If a product is RoHS-compliant, this confirms that the proportion of hazardous, or difficult-to-dispose substances is limited to the maximum allowed.

The aim is to reduce the amount of hazardous waste and to protect both people and the environment. RoHS-compliance ensures the products are safe to use.

In Quickloader products, RoHS compliance means that the products are not yellow zinc coated. Yellow zinc plating is a form of zinc plating in which chromate with a high trivalent or hexavalent chromium content is applied to the surface of a part after it has been plated with zinc. Zinc chromate is highly toxic and it is also a carcinogen.
